Released in February 2021, the song contrasts the rapid urban development in cities like Kathmandu with the stagnant, harsh realities of rural life. Its lyrics poignantley question why the capital enjoys modern luxuries like "smooth roads and shiny cars" while children in villages must still cross rivers on dangerous tuin (wire crossings) just to reach school. This stark comparison highlights the deep-seated regional inequality and the government's perceived neglect of the far-western districts.
The song’s emotional depth is further amplified by its commentary on the lack of basic healthcare, famously mentioning how people still die from a lack of simple Cetamol (Paracetamol). Composed by Suraj Pandit with lyrics by Lekhraj Giri, the track became a viral sensation on platforms like YouTube and Spotify , resonating with millions who saw it as a demand for justice and development rather than just a melody. Its massive impact even led to a sequel, "Singha Durbar (Rel Ko Bato 2)," which continues to challenge political leaders to remember the "forgotten paths" leading to the villages of Nepal.
