Raj Kamal (January 15, 1928 – September 1, 2005) was a well-known Indian music composer and playback singer in the Hindi film and television industry.
Career and Notable Works
Films: He composed classic, soul-stirring music for movies like Sawan Ko Aane Do (1979) and Chashme Buddoor (1981), featuring unforgettable songs such as "Chand Jaise Mukhde Pe" and "Kahan Se Aaye Badra" sung by K. J. Yesudas.
Television: He is famously remembered for composing the epic background score and title tracks for B.R. Chopra's legendary TV series Mahabharat (1988–1990), as well as serials like Vishnu Puran and Bahadur Shah Zafar.
Singing: As an accomplished playback singer, he lent his voice to tracks like "Tum Sundar Ho" (Katha, 1983) and "Maine Tumko Hi" (Phulwari, 1984).
