Daisy Baraili (often spelled Deji Baraili) is a highly revered and pioneering figures in Nepali contemporary and Adhunik music, originally hailing from Darjeeling, India. Showing immense vocal talent from a young age, she began studying music formally at the age of ten under the guidance of Badri Durga Kharel. By the time she was just 13 years old, she had already transitioned from a child prodigy into a breakout star. She initially captured the hearts of Nepali-speaking audiences across the subcontinent with her signature performance of the timeless folk-pop song "Bhaisi Ladyo Hai Maya Bhirbata Hera", a legendary track that became an instant milestone in Nepali pop culture and remains celebrated for its vibrant, expressive storytelling.
Throughout a career spanning more than three decades, Baraili has earned deep admiration for her highly emotive voice, technical control, and poetic depth.
