Hamro Geet - Uges Limbu Lyrics & Chords

Hamro Geet

by Uges Limbu

"Hamro Geet" (frequently recognized by its iconic hook "Gahiro Akha") is a widely celebrated independent Nepali rock-pop ballad written, composed, and performed by singer-songwriter Uges Limbu. Originally released over a decade ago, the track has accumulated more than 14 million views on its original music video and remains a defining anthem of modern Nepali indie music. Musically, the track relies on a stripped-back, slow-tempo acoustic structure featuring delicate guitar plucking that perfectly complements Limbu's raw, emotionally resonant vocals. Lyrically, the song is a profound and melancholic exploration of inner turmoil, loneliness, and the stinging ache of romantic separation. The narrative begins with a sense of existential dread ("Sochchu aja ma prasna, kina ho laddai chu ma affai bhitra"), before diving into the suffocating anxiety of heartbreak as captured by the vivid line, "Tadpirahecha besari, mann attincha ghari ghari". Through these poetic verses, Limbu uses nature-driven metaphors—like witnessing landslides in clear rivers or storms in peaceful winds—to depict how a deceitful love can shatter one's reality. The song concludes as a desperate, lingering plea for comfort, with the narrator begging their distant lover to return, hold them close, and become their mirror once more.
