"Bidaai" (also spelled Bidhai) is a profoundly tragic and hauntingly beautiful single by the contemporary Nepali musical project SWAR, featuring frontman Swapnil Sharma alongside producer Rohit Shakya and drummer Gautam Tandukar. Released in late December 2025, the acoustic-rock ballad masterfully explores the immense weight of an eternal farewell. The track's narrative centers around a devastating loss, capturing a grieving lover's absolute helplessness as they try to process a reality without their partner. Driven by raw, emotionally heavy vocals, the heartbreaking chorus repeatedly echoes, "Khali aansu matrai cha bidhai ko bela" ("There are only tears at the time of farewell"), leaving listeners with a lingering sense of void and quiet sorrow.
The concept behind "Bidaai" elevates it from a standard heartbreak song to a powerful testament of undying devotion. According to the band, the story follows a young woman who dreamed her entire life of becoming a bride, but her journey was cut short by an untimely passing. In a ultimate act of love, her partner stays by her side until the end and fulfills her final wish posthumously, dressing her up as a beautiful bride for her final farewell. Lines like "Kati ramri dekhiye chhau, besari nidauda pani" ("You look so beautiful, even while sleeping so deeply") painfully capture this juxtaposition of bridal beauty and the cold reality of death.
