Jagdish Samal is a veteran Nepali singer and composer originally from Ilam, Nepal, who has been a prominent figure in the music industry for over 25 years. Known for his incredible versatility, he has recorded nearly 1,000 songs across various genres, including pop, adhunik (modern), folk, and ghazal. Beyond his independent albums, he is a prolific playback singer for Nepali cinema, having contributed to films such as Papi Manchhe, Bhagya Bidhata, and Jangbaaz.
His soulful voice is behind several iconic tracks that have stood the test of time, such as "Sayau Juni," "Aao Yaad Haru," and "Ma Ta Marchhu Kyare". Currently based in the United States, Samal continues to be highly active in the music scene, performing for the Nepalese diaspora and releasing new work, including his latest 2025 single "Ujyaloko Khoji".
