Uges Limbu is an independent Nepali singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who spent his early life in Singapore before establishing himself as a notable figure in the independent Nepali rock scene. Deeply influenced by the Singapore Gurkha Camp community and classic western punk acts, he began his musical journey as a hardcore punk tour drummer before transitioning to songwriting and vocal roles. He is widely recognized as the founder and energetic frontman of the punk rock band Normal Academic, which gained a dedicated following by creatively blending raw rock sensibilities with emotional Nepali roots.
Throughout his career, Limbu has built an extensive catalog of cross-genre releases that explore poignant themes of love, heartache, and self-reflection. His breakout 2021 album, Hamro Geet, spawned massive streaming favorites like the title track "Hamro Geet" and the acoustic melody "Angalana", while his multi-cultural versatility is showcased on the album Uges Limbu Hindi/Urdu Hits. Beyond audio production on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, he frequently directs, writes, and edits his own cinematic music videos on YouTube for popular tracks such as "Bhulayideu", "Gahiro Aankha II", and his recent single "Aadat".
